• Giveaway: Philips Electric Pasta Machine

If you’ve been following me on Facebook or Instagram then you would know that I have been playing around with the Philips Electric Pasta Machine. Have you ever tried making pasta by hand? There’s a real knack to getting the dough right and then you have to crank it through a pasta machine that will make even the buffest dude sweat. Thank goodness this process has now gone Electric! Even though loadshedding and power outages are a reality, you can go from flour to pasta in less than 10 minutes. Which means you can literally have a meal ready in 10 minutes if you warm up some pasta sauce while…

  • Let’s talk Baby Weaning with Chicco

Is there anything more exciting than weaning your child onto solid food?? Ok, there’s loads more exciting stuff but it’s still high on the list of parenting milestones in my opinion. When your child starts feeding themselves, what you’re really witnessing is their very first step away from needing you as much. I actually feel a bit sad now that I type this because it’s so true. Their foray into the land of independence begins with that first handful or spoonful of food that successfully goes from plate to mouth. Baby steps Weaning isn’t easy. Watching food fall left, right and centre with possibly one fistful of carrots actually making…

  • You’re making memories but do you remember them?

If you’re like me, you take between 10-20 pics a day unless its a special occasion, then that number can easily go up to 100 by midday. We are greedy when it comes to photographs because of the digital age that we live in. Our phones are almost always within arms reach so it’s very easy to snap away and not think twice if someones eyes are closed or there’s clothes on the floor in the background. We (yes, I’m pretending to be younger than I am) are a selfie generation where it is not uncommon to scroll through your camera roll and see fifty pictures of your face that…

  • Remember that time my post went Viral?

A week ago I attended the Prima Toys Launch of their Christmas range of toys. It was a carnival theme and a bunch of my friends were there so we all had a blast feeling like little kids again. We got to play with the new toys, eat caramel popcorn and shoot hoops for prizes. It was fantastic! It was also overwhelming because there are SO many toys for kids these days. Like most parents I want to give my kids the world but at the same time I know that for my kids personally, less is more. For that reason I limit the number of toys that they have…

  • When Mother-Daughter Date Day gets Disneyfied!

I don’t get to spend as much one on one time with my eldest as I used to. This is the trade off for having more than one child and I wouldn’t change that for the world, but I do miss our time together so when I was invited to the mini #GirlMomsMeetUp (for mums with daughters aged 5-10) I immediately said yes! Though for the sake of full disclosure I should also mention that the meetup has been created by my blogging buddies Charlene (High Heels and Fairy Tales), Chanene (the award winning Tonic and Tiaras) and Carly (Mom of Two Little Girls) so I would have said yes…

  • My one year old’s shoe fetish

My youngest is almost a year and a half. That’s still really teeny tiny in non-scientific baby terms, yet she has a shoe obsession that outshines anyone I have ever known, except my mum (so sad that we don’t wear the same size!) and a friend from campus. It’s not that she has a vast quantity of shoes, because she doesn’t. I intentionally keep her shoes to an absolute max of 5 at a time because babies grow so quickly that she only wears her shoes for a few months before they need to be replaced. For her it is a deep love for shoes of any shape and size.…

  • My unintentional makeover

I have mentioned before that I am undergoing a personal makeover process. I say process because I am overhauling everything about myself from my hair to my personality so this isn’t exactly an overnight situation. The idea of a beauty blogger collaboration has been on my mind for a while and I even contacted two fantastic bloggers but just haven’t had the time to set up a date with them. I have been seeing some of Ryno’s work on Facebook now and then and last week one of his posts mentioned an eyebrow makeover. Talk about foundation and my eyes will glaze over, mention eyebrows and I go on high…

  • What can you get for R250?

If your answer is ‘not bloody much’ then we’re on the same page. Recently I have been coming home with fewer and fewer packets of groceries even though I have been spending more than ever before. We don’t eat extravagantly and most of my trolley contains fruit and veg, yet I have been blowing the budget every week. I recently saw a page called Community Gardens being recommended on FB for fresh fruit and veg directly from the farmers. I had no idea how much 12kg would be but the bargain hunter in me wanted the extra 3kg for R20 more 😂😂 so I placed an order. My box of…

  • Product review : Muppie Lounge

A week ago I received the cutest package of Muppie Lounge goodies for me to review. I had been following Marishka’s (creative whizz, artist, planner, website designer, owner and and model behind Muppie Lounge) story and was really keen to check out her range. She is a mum to four little kids and has somehow also managed to start her own fashion label. (How the hell?!) She launches a new range every three to four months and NEVER does the same print on the same style twice so everything is Limited Edition.  First impressions: Oh. My. Hat! I am a sucker for cute containers and the T-shirts arrived in these lovely cylinders with…

  • I ❤ you Scrubbee

This is not a sponsored post. I adore Lush. I love their stores. I love their products. I love how their staff don’t make you feel like a cheapskate for asking for a sample before buying a product. (I have spent a shit ton of cash on products just because I loved the sample so much) I could literally spend hours there just sniffing the bath bombs or washing my hands with the crazy shaped soaps. I lost about an hour that I didn’t have at the V&A Waterfront store on Saturday during a lightening girls weekend trip and I am so glad I did because I bought the product…
