For the love of food

I love food. Eating it and cooking it. Though I confess Iv become a bit lazy to try new things purely because I just don’t have the time. It’s difficult to focus with a toddler at your side saying ‘no mummy no cooking. Let’s go sitting.’ ‘No mummy no washing. Let’s go play with toy.’ A stronger mum may be able to resist but I’m weak to her cuteness. So it’s quick meals that I can leave to cook in the oven most of the time.

This Sat I went to the local market on my own. I was so excited that I got there half an hour before they opened and the suppliers were still setting up. #awkies Anyway, I bought a hot chocolate, faced the ocean and enjoyed the quiet time. The market was wonderful and I’m always in awe of the fresh veg section. I had to resist buying one of everything!

What I did buy was some zucchini flowers which I have wanted to try making since I got hooked on Masterchef and MKR many years ago. So I did. I found an easy recipe online and adjusted it to my ingredients at home and I had so much fun making it! I stuffed the flowers with a mix of herbed and garlic goats cheese, onion, basil and honey. Egg washed it then dipped in plain flour before lightly frying it. Delicious!!! It was an early Father’s Day supper for my husband and I also made his favorite prawn and basil linguine. I was happy. He was happy. My little darling was happy. It was a good evening all around

Pity about the paper plates (and terrible lighting) but I hate washing 😁 No apologies here!

I am a mum to two curious and energetic little girls. My life is a constant juggling act and contrary to the blog name, it's one long adventure!
